Today I am going to be speaking about

Today I am going to be speaking about hypnosis and in particular some of the common misconceptions and myths that surround it. Scientists and hypnotists are in constant debate as to whether or not hypnosis actually exists. Scientists argue that there isn’t any concrete evidence to suggest that hypnosis exists. While this is true the same theory can be applied to a lot of things in life, not just hypnosis. A common myth with hypnosis is that when you return to your natural unhypnotised state you won’t remember anything that happened while you were hypnotised. This isn’t true, in rare cases being hypnotised can cause amnesia but this is very rare. How much or how little you remember when you return to your normal state is in the hands of the hypnotist in most cases. Another myth is that hypnosis can be used to help your memory. Some people believe that while they are hypnotised it will help them with their memory, especially if the event they are trying to remember happened recently. However research has proved the exact opposite. For the reasons which I spoke about higher up hypnosis can cause loss of memory rather than helping it. Most of these rumours have been started by the media. Another myth which people end up wasting time over is the illusion that with the help of hypnosis you can gain an athletic edge over your previous self. Again the media are responsible for this myth being over hyped and exaggerated. If the word gets out that one famous sports person has turned to hypnosis for their training then people start to assume that it works and they end up doing it to. The truth is that hypnosis cannot make people stronger than their existing capabilities. There are many things hypnosis can help you with however and that is why people pay hypnotists. Weight loss is a common catalyst in people turning to hypnosis. If someone is on a diet and avoiding sugary snacks it is natural for them to want the sweet tasting foods that they miss. This leads them to hypnosis in the hope it will help them fight off their cravings. The most common hypnosis skill which is used is called conversational hypnosis. The days of a coin on the end of a string swinging back and forth are long gone. Conversational hypnosis works by speaking to people in such a way that they will be under the hypnotists spell. There are many experts that demonstrate their skills on national TV and they’re very good at what they do. There are many conversational hypnosis courses being sold these days throughout the Internet. Some of them are very informative for beginners and with the correct amount of dedication to learning a complete newbie can grow to an intermediate level of hypnosis skills. Unfortunately because the online hypnosis market is becoming more and more popular it is giving birth to some bogus hypnosis courses which are being set up by people looking to make some easy money.
